Medihelp warning

This is a warning for members of Medihelp and Covid treatment. We have been members since 2004. Prime3 plan. My husband was admitted to hospital on the 8th of January 2021 and thankfully discharged on the 10th of February 2021. It was a long and stressful time for our family. During his stay in hospital the doctors administered among other medication, Remdesivir and Actemra. Total cost of these two medications: R23 987.06, which Medihelp does not want to pay as it is not a medication on their list of treatments. They use a list from FLCCC, which was forwarded to us (American based if I understand correct). We do no have the knowledge of medicines and cannot reject whatever is prescribed, more so when one is very sick. Treatment for Covid is still in trial and error phase. I assume the doctor did his best in my husbands treatment. Our medical aid has been depleted in the meantime and we do not have R23987.06 to pay. Warning: do not assume Medihelp will pay all costs when you are in hospital.
