Medihelp The Most Pathetic Excuse of a Medical Aid!!!!

Medihelp is the worst, most unsympathetic medical aid ever!!!!! If only there was no star because you do not deserve even 1 star!

I have to go for surgery for a repair of a hiatal hernia on 6 September 2024, I contacted the scheme on the 6th of August 2024 to obtain authorisation for my surgery and was informed that this surgery is not covered since the beginning of the year and that I would have to upgrade to a higher option without furnishing me with any reasons, just that the scheme changed its rules.

I then opted to terminate my membership to join a new medical aid since I require urgent surgery and was then informed that the termination will be effective only 30 September 2024.

Now I ask Medihelp, what should I do since you do not want to pay for my surgery nor do you want to terminate my membership before I go for my surgery?

You delaying my request for termination and refusing to pay for my surgery is detrimental to my health and causing unnecessary stress and anxiety which, however, it seems as if you only care to take my money every month and when I need you to provide me with a service that I’m paying you for, you cannot do so. Is this actually a medical aid or is it a money making scheme????

I pay you nearly R30 000 per year but you cannot pay my surgery which I’m sure will cost you less.

What a pathetic excuse of a medical aid!!!!!
