Is there no option to give them no rating/ no stars, same way as they seem to give NO SERVICE, but heck the debit order for the non-service is deducted timeously, without fail....
The call centre is useless, the email points of contacts are just as useless with their automated responses.
We moved over to this scheme in Jan 2023 in attempt to save cost, we have been with Discovery since 2015 - no issues ever.
Medihelp in month one, has already been the worst nightmare company ever to deal with. They have delayed providing authorisation for hospital procedure of 2 minor children aged 4, which have been motivated by their Medical Specialist, and Medihelp have been sitting on this for over 72 hours.
They claim to be investigating non disclosure in 1st year of membership. This is ridiculous, considering that the procedures they need to authorise is a Tonsillectomy.
There was no request for disclosure in this regard. It would have been impossible to disclose in any way since children in preschool are often very sickly with airborne viruses etc as well as their tonsillitis and ear infections, the children received over 4 courses of antibiotics in one year for treatment of tonsillitis. In 2023 January we had an appointment with an ENT specialist who motivated a Tonsillectomy procedure. At this time we were already members of Medihelp.
Children are scheduled for the procedure on 25 January 2023, however Medihelp declined authorisation at first, thereafter they opened in internal investigation for non disclosure, which I do not understand since there is no pre-existing condition that we had to disclose, we also had no idea that the children would be admitted to hospital in the 1st 12 months of cover, this information was only brought to our attention at the specialist consultation in January 2023, after we were already members of Medihelp.
The Medical Scheme is currently preventing my children from receiving the medical care they need which I view as a very serious offense and breach of service level agreement.
Stay clear of this medical scheme, they would rather chase profit than "help" their consumers.
Best regards,
