Medihelp, Please provide me a list of specialist that work within your Rates !

We got an Authorisation on a Impacted wisdom teeth removal for Medihelp.

At admission we need to pay an amount of R880.

On the procedure to remove the teeth the Oral Sergeon asked an amount of R4912 and then Medihelp only pays an amount of R3053.90 (62 % paid by Medihelp), Thus we pay another R1858.90

The Anesthesiologists procedure costs an amount of R2856.26, Medihelp pays an amount of R913.50 (32% paid by Medihelp) towards this. Thus we pay another R1942.76.

I clearly understand that some doctors are very expensive, when I spoke to Dental Risk Company of Medihelp regarding aboves minimum payments towards the procedures Rebecca Majosi and Marie Weidemann stated that the docters tariffs are out of the Medical Aid Rates. This makes sence.

I then asked for the list of specialist that will work in these rates.

They could not provide me with that list, only a list of Dentals.

This is the second time that above happened to me,

How is it possible in this modern era that we have a list of medical procedures prices but nobody works to that pricing. Who determine these prices that is more that 60% wrong. Clearly somebody don,t know how to do pricing, there was not one item off the procedures that they paid in full. Maybe this is on purpose !. No wonder Gap payments is such an "healthy" business.

The National Health Plan is not an bad idea after all if this is how MEDIHELP is conduct business.
