Medihelp helpless Or hopeless
My wife has been a member of Medihelp since she started teaching in 1980, so 44 years thus far. When we married 32 years ago, i also joined Medihelp. We have had a Hospital Plan Prime 1 for the last 20 odd years and generally it has been pretty good. In 2017, I needed a total knee replacement. Medihelp paid a portion and Gap cover helped with the rest of the bill. Now, 7 years later, I unfortunately need the other knee replaced. BUT, GUESS WHAT?? at some stage during the past few years, Medihelp REMOVED the benefit relating to joint replacements! So now, i am faced with a huge built and my medical aid pay ZERO. They do not pay because they say it is "wear and tear"...LOL! But surely wear and tear relates to our entire body as we get older??? Oh, BUT THATS NOT ALL... if I had fallen and broken the knee, then they would have considered paying it!!! If you can make any sense of this, then you are a better person than me. i think it is a sick joke!
