MEDIHELP COMPLIMENT - ALMOST 5 STARS

I would like to highlight that to my knowledge Medihelp is one of the few Medical Schemes that offer some contribution towards Refractive eye surgery. I had the surgery on 14 December 2023, and Medihelp refunded me a substantial portion of the cost, which I think needs to be highlighted.

I also would like to take the time to share that I think Medihelp offers excellent coverage and claims settlement for hospitalisation. I have a rare auto-immune condition, and accounts for hospital stays, tests, scans, specialists etc. are usually settled and the process is easy to track and understand. My 70 year old parents are members of the so-called "best" medical scheme in SA and I have endless problems with claims not being paid and submitting these claims to their GAP insurance for payment. I would have change them to Medihelp ages ago if not for the fact that Medihelp does not cover wear-and-tear joint replacements which would be a possible future issue considering their age.

Medihelp would have received 5 stars if not for the fact that I have not been able to register my rare auto-immune condition as a chronic condition, even after numerous attempts. This unfortunately leads to my savings account being depleted very early in the year and substantial out of pocket expenses.
