Medihelp are totally scandalous and unwilling to help

After my Dad passed away on 28 December, Medihelp cancelled my parent's Medical Aid policy without warning or notice due to the main member's passing. This leaves my Mom of 74 years of age, with Dementia and Alzheimers, without ANY cover whatsoever. She cannot access her chronic medication and cannot access any treatment at all. The only way she can continue on membership is to apply in writing and she must sign for it. She cannot hold a pen, write, speak or walk. They have completely blocked any chance of her to remain on the scheme after 12 years on one of their top packages, despite me having provided all of the requirements. I was also a third party, person of interest on their original policy. This is scandalous. No notice, no empathy, no help, nothing. AND I had paid the January premium for the original policy, before I knew it was cancelled, now the only way I can get the money back, is that she must apply in writing for the refund. I would stay as far away as possible from Medihelp if I were you. I am willing to pay the premiums to keep her on the medical aid. IN the middle of dealing with the loss of a loved one, this medical aid are totally without empathy or a willingness to help. The name does NOT suit them at all
