INHUMANLY PATHETHIC SERVICE

We have been with Medihelp since 2016. My father had an incident in the begining of Jan where a boat collapsed and fell on his shoulder. That evening he had severe pain and went to the GP the following day thinking that he had thorn a muscle. The GP then told him to go for x-rays. After all of these there was a clear indication that his shoulder was severly dislocted he went to casualties at Midstream Hospital and they confirmed that he would need a total shoulder replacement. He then went to an orthopedic surgeon who also confirmed that. We then called the medical aid and they denied the surgery because they said that there is wear and tare on his shoulder and that the only way they would help is if surgical intervention was the only possible way to help and that if it was an accute injury (which it was because his shoulder was in normal working functionality till after the accident) . They then requested a few documents, which we did send. The Dr's motivational letter clearly states that the only possible way my Dad would regain normal function of his arm and to be pain free would be with a shoulder replacment. Yet again the medical aid denied it with the same above reason after the Dr did confirm it would be the only way. My Dad is walking with SEVERE PAIN. His arm is just hanging. He is not able to use it.Not able to sleep at night and sits straight on the bed. This is also affecting his mental state as he is a handyman of trade which means that he cannot work now to earn any income. MEDIHELPS SERVICE IS PATHETHIC. AND YOU PAY THOUSANDS OF RANDS FOR SUCH INHUMANLY SERVICE. We will not be leaving this here.
