Huge Increase In Premiums and Refusal of Refunds

Firstly this is the medical aid that went up 15.9% for 2024 (increasing my premium by almost 1k per month).

Secondly, I have been to casualties on the 18th of Feb with servere abdominal pain upon arrival the receptionist at casualties advised that she will let us know what the amount is we need to pay for the Dr seeing me.

At the end of my consultation we had to pay R834.00 for the triage fee (which i dont agree with seeing i was admitted to hospital) and then the Dr also wanted us to pay him R 1200 consultation on which we said he can claim it through the medical aid and should they not pay we will settle the account.

Discharged from hospital 3days later, i phoned my broker who thwn tried to help us claim the money back from the medical aid. Being sent from pilar to post it is more than 4 weeks later and still no refund. Now the medical aid want a medical examination report from the casualtie dr before they will consider the refund. I feel that is ridiculous because i have the statement from the hospital showing the amount charged on the 18th of feb and that we paid that amount via debit card. We had to ask someone to help us with the funds so they could proceed with all the paper work at hospital for admission.

Triage / casualties should only be paid by the member of you dont get admitted to the hospital and been sent how with a script only.

This is rather frustrating as we pay every month for what!?
