Followed protocols - maternity rejected -no cover
My fiance is currently pregnant and had a hospital plan in place, Being a good man and the father of the unborn child I suggest to my fiance to move to my medical aid (Medi-Help). I phoned the client care call centre and explained to them what my plan was and also informed them that she have a hospital plan in place, they said to me that there will be NO problem at all due to the fact that she's been on this plan for 4 years and will enjoy all the maternity benefits necess have to offer, all i need to do is to complete the form to add dependents together with her id copy and a cancellation certificate from her current scheme. All the paper work was done and submitted only to get the new quote with a waiting period of 1 year for maternity benefits. They informed that her hospital plan (affinity health) was not seen as a medical aid, this was never mentioned at any stage that only certain hospital plans will get approved. Affinity health also do not want to re-instate her policy after the cancellation as per medi-help's request! Now we sit with no cover whatsoever due to the lack of information provided. Shouldn't there be a PI Cover in place for this kind of wrong information given?
