Final year PhD student living off savings (now depleted) and not employed and Medihelp wants to changed my policy to R2k a month.

I am a full time PhD student who is not employed, Medihelp has changed my monthly premium from around R600 a month (their student option) to R2000. I have sent them all the documents that they requested, however, my emails go unanswered even though I get read recipients. I have been living off my savings (which are now depleted), and even though I did provide proof of registration for Full time studies, as well as three months bank statements (where no income is noted with the exception of internal account transfers from my savings account of which I also provided statements of and is also now depleted). I have phoned Medihelp twice to discuss this however on both times I have treated rudely by the consultants who seem to have limited understanding about the situation and even less sympathy. They now want to charge me R2k (which will almost empty my bank account) on Monday. I do not recommend this Medical Aid.
