Disgusting, *********

I cancelled my policy with Medihelp May 2020, due to losing my job because of COVID.

I went for the vaccine on 6 July 2021. I indicated the fact that I did NOT have a medical aid on all documentation, as I did NOT have a medical aid.

Today (9 April 2022) I receive a satement from Medihelp, stating that I OWE THEM R356.96 for the COVID vaccine received on 6 July 2021.

Even on their own statement they say the money was due by me BECAUSE THE CLAIM CAME AFTER MY MEMBERSHIP WAS CANCELLED.

So now my question is. Government stated "For insured individuals, funding will be derived from their medical schemes and administered for free at the point of service. Uninsured individuals will be funded by Government and the vaccination will be free at the point of service"

SO WHY AM I NOW BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS MONEY? IT IS A FREE SERVICE, SUBSIDIZED BY THE GOVERNMENT. I NEVER GAVE ANY MEDICAL AID DETAILS AS I DID NOT HAVE MEDICAL AID AT THAT TIME.

WHY WAS IT SENT TO A MEDICAL AID I HAVENT BEEN A MEMBER OF FOR OVER A YEAR

WHY DO I AS AN INDIVIDUAL HAVE PAY FOR THIS FREE SERVICE, SUBSIDIZED BY THE GOVERNMENT
