Disappointed!!!!!!
<p>To whom this may concern. I am very disappointed in your services, i had an operation, and was told that you were going to pay 100% out for my operation which was R12 775! Just to find out by sms that you are only paying R2888 i am a student who is still studying and i have no idea how i am going to pay the outstanding amount!! It is so unfair i am very disappointed!!!!!</p>

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.
Medihelp informed you by email dated 22 June 2016 of its benefits for the services rendered in hospital before you received the procedure. We confirmed that the Scheme would pay benefits at 100% of the scheme tariff and that you would be responsible for the cost difference if the doctor claimed more than this tariff. Since the amount claimed by the specialist was more than the scheme tariff, you are liable for the difference of R9 937.15.
Remember that it is your responsibility as a member to negotiate the tariff to be charged by a doctor before you receive the service, in order to determine whether any additional costs and excesses would be payable by you.
