Cancellation of membership

We went through a bad patch of company not paying salaries and missed one payment after trying to sc**** money together to pay all our bills and put food on the table. We cannot afford double payments and waited for December salaries so that we can use the extra money to get the medical aid up to date, but we've received an email just saing that the medical aid has been cancelled. No contact before hand, no notices received nothing. This is unacceptable, we are not very happy with Medihelp but have to take this medical aid as it is the most affordable, but they don't even give you a month or 2 just to catch up on your payments. This is really unacceptable and demand that medical aid be reinstated with immediate effect and give us a change to get the money together to pay the oustanding payment. Everybody don't have just R3000 lying around you know!

Dear cardut
As stipulated in our Rules, Medihelp informs a member by SMS and letter if his/her subscription account indicates a debit balance. As per the telephone discussion, it was confirmed that a letter and SMS dated 5 October 2016 was sent to the member regarding the subscription in arrears. However, the cell phone number on record was no longer in use and therefore no communication sent by SMS regarding the subscription in arrears were received by him. The member’s contact details will be updated once we receive the written or telephonic request.
