Beware if you have a chronic condition at Medihelp

I have send my script to Medipost to arrange to send my chronic medication to a network doctor to avoid a 60% co-payment.

The lady advised me that I will have to pay R 1 150.49 and that medihelp will only pay R 234.81.

I phoned medihelp and spoke to Joanita and she said that my medicine is not on the formularity list but there is also no generic medicine for Asacol 800mg.

My question is, if there is no generic and this is an PMB condition why do I have to pay such a huge amount?

Please advise and assist with this matter because if there is no generic then this medicine is supposed to be on the formularity list. Without this medication I can lose my colon due to the damage which Ulceritve Colitis can cause.

I am really dissapointed in the way this was dealt with and that there is no way of assisting.
