Bad Medical Aid
Good Morning All I am disappointed with Medihelp, I was on the Savings Option, last year I went to make my glasses, the year went by thinking my glasses were paid, up until this year January I got a call from the optometrist saying the medical aid didn't pay. I called them they told me lot of stories. The glasses had to be paid, I used the savings I had in the medical to pay up the glasses. Then terminated their services.
This morning I get an sms from Medihelp saying I am owing them R4200, because I have used my saving in advance. I called wanting to understand, the explanation I got is doesn't make sense, they say I have used my savings in advance they are suppose to last me a year. My question was what different was it going to make if they were finished in June and I terminated then, was I still going to pay the R4200? Then the lady said it depends on which months you terminate. I was paying R2800 towards my premiums every month, last premiums went off on the 25th March 2020, I don't understand why should I pay R4200, if the saving are finished, whether March or December, by my understanding. The Saving they give they don't even last a year, last years one they were finished by August, had I decided to terminate by that time, what was going to happen, pay still cause I have used my savings in advance?
I am angry and disappointed, an unnecessary debts.

The are somethings that as clients we normally don't look on our statements send out, some of us normally don't read them, until Sh***t hit the fan.
Medihelp send me a statement of where they got the -4200, which i still don't understand, went through all my statements from January until March, and surprisingly while going through the statements, i see some funny stuff, were a doctor claimed 943.00, and on the statement it reflects it was paid, but on the total deducted amount from the savings it shows 1795.00, why not the 943.00? The other statement doctor claimed 63.00 it shows it was paid, total deducted 1438.00.
Can someone explain how do you get to totals that are suppose to be deducted, if a doctor claims 943.00 were does the rest of the savings go? And now Medihelp is telling me i am owing them 4200. I have asked a consultant to give a call and explain the statement to me, don't think they will do, as they didn't call from yesterday's complain, they just send me a statement that's it.
