Based on recent customer reviews, Medicross draws praise for individual clinicians such as Dr Lichtenstein and Dr Bosman-Jansen, who are described as thorough, professional and genuinely caring. However, patients across the Boksburg, Parow, Brackenfell, Monument, East London and Silverton branches report rushed consultations, missed diagnoses, delayed urgent blood results and unanswered nursing station phones. Recurring frustrations include rude admin staff, file mix-ups, surprise billing months later and undisclosed script or injection fees. Dental work and construction disruption at Silverton also attracted criticism, leaving strong medical care overshadowed by weak administration.

I went to the nursing station for a vitality check on Wednesday 14 October 2026 which was booked for 13h30. I received a booking for an appointment with Dr Achampong before I even finished my vitality check which was very unusual and unexplained to me. I got to the nursing station facility and there was another old indian lady who approached the nursing desk same time with me and I allowed here her to go first. To my disappointment, her consult was personal and a catch up session until, I looked at them then she said her goodbyes. The nurse was kind and we found out my cholesterol was high. We waited for the Dr who was finishing a consult with another patient and when he came, all he said was "I was told your cholesterol is high and I need to come check on you" He then left immediately after. At this point I was confused and a bit overwhelmed with everything and the nurses came back to tell me to go to reception to make a formal appointment which was frustrating because my medical aid had already advised that this was done. The time I waited and complained about the poor communication was horrid. I initially had the consult with Dr Achampong and he told me I was to get some blood taken to check whether the cholesterol needed medication or not. As a person who goes to gym and looks after her diet, this was stressful and I do not come from a background of health, so I was so confused and no-one explained anything about cholesterol etc to me I had to rely on google and chatgbt. Because I needed my vitality points, I called in on Friday mid-morning to check why I have not received any feedback yet. The doctor called me back around 14h30, and told me the admin lady would upload my vitality results by the end of the day and medical aid called me back as I had mentioned these were urgent on my side and still they had not. I called *** again 17 October 2026, in the morning only for them to tell me to call back and check on Monday because the admin lady was not there. Communication is beyond poor. I will not be visiting again

Pharmacists confused about their job
It is interesting to see that AI gave them a good re-view. But then AI does not expect to get medication. I am writing this to explain the experiences I have had with the Clicks Pharmacy at the Netcare Medicross Clinic in Randburg. The Head Pharmacist and his juniors appear very reluctant to dispense medication. Both over the counter and doctor prescriptions. The Head Pharmacist told me that he knows more than doctors and has refused to fill a script which a Dischem Pharmacy and a different Clicks Pharmacy has filled. This means I have experienced this more than once. In a different scenario, one of the Pharmacy assistants said the script had expired. In thisinstance the script had been written out the previous day, and was this a day old. As far as I am aware the date the script is written does not expire the same day. Based on the reluctance to dispense medication I have stopped going to Medicross Randburg and I will never go to this pharmacy again. Apart from the refusal to dispense their attitude is overbearing and arrogant. I am not sure how you would handle such a situation. In my opinion if someone is unwilling to do the job they should look for another opportunity in which they would or could perform willingly. I understand a pharmacist offering information if requested, and this is appreciated, however, I do not want them to try and fulfill the role of a qualified Doctor.

Good day. A sincere thank you and commendation to Northpine Medicross for sincere caring about there patients. I have been with the establishment for 30 plus years, although it had a different name in their earlier years. I visit on the 13th of April with both elevated BP and diabetes issues. My BP was revving 200/120 and blood sugar numbers averaging 24 mmol/L. Dr Greybe and the Team systematically worked through my challenges, sent me for all the relevant pathology tests, eye test and the like, and accurately diagnosed and prescribed meds and strategies to urgently curtail the potential of a heart attack or stroke, or both. Six months later, I am off from all meds except for a very tiny dosage of insulin, 0.18 once per day. Many blessings and thank you Dr.Greybe and Team, there are Folk who study for there degrees and profession, and then there are those who study, but are also born to be in there profession. God bless you Northpine Medicross: Prov 23v18. ***

Say goodbye to your teeth if you go to this dentist!
Would not recommend going to Dr Lauren Teichert at Medicross Monument - Dental. We have spent R9000 on doing a fill on one tooth which just keeps coming off ****erally falling out, not biting anything or putting pressure, just falls out), today decided to go to another dentist who has pointed out that Dr Teichert has drilled off the tooth so much that the fill had nothing to stick to, we are now forced to have the whole tooth extracted and do an implant… Very irritated, will never go back and never recommend her to anyone!!
