Medi-Clinic Constantiaberg Hospital Flush Bodily Fluids Down Wash Basin

My wife and I visited my brother in law at Medi-Clinic Constantiaberg and were informed that the nursing staff had flushed bodily fluids down the wash hand basin in his room. Fluids leaked out of the bottle waste trap. On enquiry we were informed that it was standard practice to do this at this hospital. Surely this is in contravention of the National Environmental Management: Waste Act (Act No. 59 of 2008)
