Disgraceful !

DISGRACEFUL COMPANY!

I want to say from the onset, I absolutely hate negative online reviews. As a business owner myself, I know the damage they can do and this is my first one since I became a sucessful entrepreneur 8 years ago. This story is so crazy, it needs to be told.

My company used MDS Collivery to collect an A4 envelope from a client who worked at a business outside of Cape Town. The envelope was supposed to be delivered to our Cape Town office. The quoted amount was roughly R130.

When the MDS driver collected the envelope, the business in question thought it was another courier company there to colect tyres. So, instead of an A4 envelope that was supposed to be collected, we were sent TYRES!! We were liable for a R5000 bill. It is important to note that it was clearly stated on the waybill that they were collecting an envelope.

After receiving the tyres, we then notified them immediately of the error they made but nothing was done to credit our account. After MONTHS of back and forth, the CEO ( I wont mention his name because I have integrity! ), instructed their accounts department to hand us over to a debt collector to collect the outstanidng debt. Not once did we get a phonecall from them about the incident and not once did they offer advice, support or guidance on how to resolve the matter. They COMPLETELY absolved themselves of responsibility and blamed us for making the mistake.

While these back and forth arguments were going on, MDS collected another package from us and deliberately HELD this package until such time as we settled the R5000 bill. The contents of the package were government documents for an elderly applicant of ours in Durban. The documents were for a visa application to prevent this elderly man from becoming ******* in South Africa and overstaying a visa. He suffers from dementia and his son was helping him with his visa application. It needed to get to him THAT DAY in order for them to have enough time to collate the documents and submit them.

We requested from MDS that they release the documents because the matter in question had NOTHING to do with a poor elderley man and his visa application. Any human being with a morsel of empathy and integrity would have agreed.

The CEO, in conversation with us, then compromised and said we could pay half the TYRE amount in FULL AND FINAL settlement of the account.

We then contacted our Attorneys, a very well respected firm in Cape Town, who advised us to pay the half and then deal with the matter after the elderley man received his documents. So, without delay, we paid the R3100 ( the amount inclusive of VAT ) and the A4 envelope was delivered that day. If proven in court, this act is bascially ******ion.

We then get a bill today for us to settle the remaining 50%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I almost fell off my chair.

This company are void for logistical efficiency, VOID of human empathy and compassion, VOID of business acumen and dont care at all about their clients or their clients wellbeing. I was absolutely shocked at the manner the CEO handled the situation, one of the worst acts of a CEO i have ever come across in my entire life. He just didnt give a f***

We are now engaging with our attorneys to take the matter further, file a complaint with the Consumer Tribunal and make it known to everyone we deal with what kind of people they are.
