Worst experience with Volkswagen!!!
Good Day
On the 17/09/2019 my family and I visited Bidvest McCarthy Volkswagen Umhlanga, We spoke to a sales person by the name of Chantal, She had shown us a 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 which she had advised was selling for R130000, We kept in contact with her as we wanted to purchase the vehicle. Today I test drove the vehicle and agreed to take it based on the fact that she had advised me the car is being sold for R130000, An hour later I made a R20000 cash EFT into their account to secure the vehicle which was confirmed. An hour after this was done she then calls me an states that she cannot give me the vehicle as agreed upon verbally as the price is now R180000 which was never stated to me previously.
She then put her colleague Sameera on the line who advised that Chantal is a trainee(This was never mentioned to me previously, She did not read any disclaimer notifying us of this and neither was she be supervised by any mandated person when she was showing me the vehicle and discussing price). Chantal did look at the stock sheet together with Sameera on the 17/11/2019 and agreed to the price of R130000. Sameera then asked me if I have anything in writing to which I responded no I don't I am waiting for the OTP confirming the transaction. She then said her manager will call me.
Sameeras manager did call me and this sitiation was then explained to him, He advised me that without an OTP I cannot come to the ombudsman.
I have paid my money to the dealer for a vehicle which I would love to buy but the dealer is going back on their verbal agreement with me. It is highly unfortunate that I do not have it in writing but the dealer should stick to their word which we have agreed upon.
Regards.
