I recently had a disastrous experience with my "friendly" and "supportive" car sellers as they bounced me around departments looking for someone to help me. My VW radio has been forced into safe mode as a safety feature to prevent car radios from getting ****** after my battery died, this is completely understandable and a great idea to curb radio theft, however when trying to get the radio out of safe mode a code is required which is supposed to be included in the radio manual of the car. Needless to say my radio manual did not have said code and I was required to bring my vehicle in in-order to gain the code so that I can use my car radio. Upon bringing the car in I was told that I would need to pay R420 to get the code in order to unlock my own radio. NOW THIS IS HORRIFYING. A code that is supposed to be included in my car was negligently left out and now I am forced to pay to get my own code in order to get my radio to work. WOW!
I then proceeded to call around and ask the dealership where I could gain my code without having to pay for something that is already mine. I was then put on the phone for 30 min being set around to 4 different people all who referred me to other departments in an endless loop of pushing on the blame. I'm not sure what to say but VW need to recheck this safety policy and include it in peoples manuals.
