********* behaviour

I bought a car for 126.500-00 from McCarthy. After driving it for a few days, I noticed numerous problems - engine mount needed to be replaced, headlight did not work, demister did not work and so forth. There were also indications that it had been in a serious accident despite McCarthy having assured me that this was not the case. I also bought the car on the condition that the warranty was still active. I took the car in to have the problems fixed and was told that the warranty was not active as the previous owner had not had the car serviced regularly. I went back to McCarthy who refused to cancel the contract and refund me. They said that they would give me an undertaking confirming that they would cover any repairs that would have been covered by the warranty. After 3 weeks and numerous requests, I did not have the undertaking nor a refund. I tried to cancel the contract (as is my legal right) and they refused. They offered to give me 100.000-00 as a trade in or 95.000-00 as a buy back! And at the same time they had the gall to say that they did not want to prejudice me! I was so tired of fighting, so I got them to buy back the car for 100.000-00, a loss of 26.500-00 that I can ill afford. I feel that this was very ********* behaviour, as I have the right in terms of the contract I signed with them as well as the CPA to cancel the contract and get a refund.
