Toyota 86 not starting

I bought a Toyota 86 in 2015 new and when it was 6 months old the car didn't start. Towed it in to the closest Toyota which was the Pinetown one. They just jump started the car and made a comment that the car was fine and it is normal that if it has not been driven for two to three days the battery dies as it is a sport car, didn't make fuss about this but thought it was strange. The same happened still nothing was being done about the car. The third time the same happened on the 29th of December 2017 a Friday, sent it back to the same dealer as they have history of the car. They jump started the car and told me to come back on the 2nd of January 2018 as the 1st was a holiday. They checked the battery and the alternator. They said there was nothing wrong with the car. I queried that it can't be as I have been having this issue for the third time. I called the dealer principle also said they can't do anything if they can't find the diagnose on the car.

Early March 2018 the same thing happened to the car had it towed to the same dealer. They say it has been three years and the battery need to be changed and I have to pay for that. I don't have a problem with paying, its the principle that this issue has been ongoing and they couldn't find the problem for only now they say its battery. Took the matter up to Toyota SA who also didn't have much help except to offer payment of 50% of the battery and I pay the other portion. I have been out of transport for a week now since this whole thing.

I know cars will have issues but it how the situation is addressed that matters. I feel like Toyota has taken me for a ride and was never willing to understand my situation. They have brushed me off over and over. I've lost my respect to Toyota and the brand will never ever purchase any of their cars and will make it my point to advise my close friends and relative of the experience I've had with Toyota. I'm very disappointed.

Hi Thank you for your response. I have already raised the case with Toyota SA customer care about this matter ref: ********** 69. Didn't get much help out of that except that they have offered to pay 50% of the battery cost and I pay the other 50% Like I've said this is not about the money, its about the principle. This was an ongoing issue since 6 months I had the car for them to address the matter this way and being so inconvenienced in the process. Its so unfortunate that Durban South Toyota gives great service and I would have used them but had to drop the car to the closest Toyota which was Pinetown Toyota. However this situation has made me write off Toyota as a whole.
