Please dont lost you VW key it is made of gold

I what to buy a new key for my Volkswagen Polo. I got a verbal quote for VW Herm**** for around R 1000.00. Six months later I ordered one. Al of a sudden the prices was R 5800.00 I was told to bring the car so that the coding can be done. The labour cost to code the key R 800.00 Surely it took only 2 minutes to code the key???
