I brought my opel in on Friday afternoon, 15th January because my alternator was not working properly. I asked what it was going to cost me and the lady informed me not to worry, I will be given a call Saturday morning with a quote and we will take it from there. I was not ringed so I followed up at 11 am and the same lady said she will give me a call right back they are busy taking a look, without mention of the fact that the workshop closed at 12 pm sharp. I had to wait until Monday morning to get hold of them which I was then transferred from person to person until the phone died from ringing for too long. When I eventually got through, she wanted to charge me R8000 for a new alternator. With mention of coming to fetch my car, she proceeded to say that it will cost R850 to do so and I will have to wait an hour as they are busy putting my car back together. I arrived in the next 5 minutes and demanded my car back which was then presented immediately. I was handed a quote of R5000, including a new battery R935 (not necessary), a 2nd hand generator R2000 and the rest labour.<br> I'm not sure if this is Mc Carthy's way of making money, but it's nonsense and I'm tremendously appalled.
