Non-Disclosure - No Spare Key.

I purchased a second-hand vehicle from McCarthy Toyota Sinoville in 05/2013. Initially the spare key was not available at time of sale and the sales team were arguing about where it is.

It has been a struggle since May 2013 to get my spare key from the dealer. After speaking to Anthony (sales person) then Nong (manager) as well as the workshop team I did not receive any assistance. Anthony and Nong have now left the dearlership so I turned to Toyota SA.

Today I received feedback from Toyota South Africa (Zenobia was very friendly) stating that the dealership would be willing to carry half the cost of a replacement key even though I have email records of empty promises.

It was not disclosed to me at sales stage that there is no spare key.

The challenges were never ending with this purchase. a) The vehicle was being advertised for a lower price than what it was being sold to me. I had to fight for the advertised price. b) It was confirmed at sales stage that the vehicle has Satellite tracking which is not available it turned out and was then promised a GPS which I never received nor do I want it anymore. The list carries on. BUT all I want is the spare key I was promised.
