Non disclosure and bad faith by Bidvest Audi

Good day, I bought a 2015 Audi Q5 from Audi Wonderboom last week. I took delivery on Monday 19/11/2018.

The vehicle was driven from Audi Durban on Saturday 17/11/2018 which was the first time I saw vehicle and test drove it. I observed that the engine light was on and enquired about this from salesman who assured me that it's AdBlue that had to be added and upon adding same the problem would be resolved.

I was advised that Monday the dealership would prepare the vehicle for collection. Upon arrival on Monday to take I noticed the engined light was still on. I was advised to take the vehicle to Audi Menlyn where the engine light would be attended to.

On Tuesday 20/11/2018, I took the vehicle to Audi Menlyn as advised wherein the vehicle was booked in to replace the AdBlue pipe which was ordered from Johannesburg. On Wednesday 21/11/2018, collected the vehicle which Audi Menlyn advised was repaired.

The next morning Thursday 22/11/2018, the engine light came on again and I immediately phoned Audi Menlyn and spoke to the service manager who advised that I should bring the vehicle for checking. I duly delivered the vehicle to Audi Menlyn. Later in the day upon further probing on my side, I was advised that the pump to the Adblue had to be changed and I can collect the vehicle on Friday 23/11/2018.

On Friday morning at about 11:00 am I made enquiries myself with Vusani Maphosa as no update was forthcoming from Audi Menlyn. I was advised that the repair was done and the vehicle was being test driven. He undertook to revert to me with an update upon return of the technician who test drove the vehicle.

At around 15:00 when no update was forthcoming, I called Audi Menlyn again. I was advised during this call that the car was repaired but they want to keep it for observation and that I may get the vehicle on Monday 26/11/2018. I found this very odd but accepted the advice anyway.

In this message, I want to make it clear that Audi sold me a vehicle they knew to be faulty. The fault of the engine light was not disclosed and instead was assured it's a minor problem. Over and above this, the vehicle I traded in has still not been settled which results in me liable interest on the Audi and the trade in. If the vehicle is repaired successfully, I will cancel the transaction and demand my old vehicle back or be given a car similar to the Audi Q5. Further to the problem above, the price of the vehicle was increased by Audi Wonderboom to R438000. The reason given for this was that the vehicle was being sold at loss.

I'm very disappointed at the conduct of both Bidvest Mccarthy Wonderboom and Menlyn. I am now also very aware that Bidvest Mccarthy has a very pathetic customer service.

I want to cancel the transaction unless Bidvest Audi provides me a vehicle of similar value.
