My Name is Thabani Maphumulo I took my car to MCCARTHYVOLKSWAGEN DURBAN when it had a problem with the power when I was driving and an unusual smell of petrol when opening the aircon. My car was assigned to Mr. N Zuke who then attended to my car, he explained to me that they will do a diagnosis on my car than fix whatever problem they pick up from the diagnosis. The was with them for a week, I then called to get an update regarding my car he the realized that he sent information of the wrong person to my warranty insurance, he then corrected the information after I called them, they claim to my insurance was for a fuel system, it was rejected her then notified and explained to me that I have to pay for the part since it was rejected, I agreed then they change the part I paid about R15 000 for it. I picked up the car since I was out of town I drove it and packed at my brother's place when I came back I started the car it didn’t start I did start it a second time it took some time and the start was hard, I then called Mr. Zuke explaining what the car was doing, he advises me to bring the car in for another diagnosis I did, he then called me and explain to me that it was now an injector that had a problem I then ask him why the first diagnosis did not pick up this fault he then said It might happen that is was damaged during the time the car was with me because if it was there before they would have picked up the fault with the diagnosis. He then processes another claim for the injector the warranty insurance rejected it, he then explained to me and agree to pay cash for the injector which cost me around R6000. I picked up the car when I was driving home I could feel it was not 100% because it was like losing power if I am accelerating, the following day I drove back to them and explain what the car was doing, they took the car back did another diagnosis, they called me explained to me that it was something else that needs to be changed which was going to cost me around R5000, that was the time I told them that they don’t know what they are doing and I no longer trust them with what they are doing to my car I am taking it to somewhere else where they can assist me. I feel the value for the amount of money I paid them doesn’t match the work done to assist me with my problem I feel like they stole my money without assisting me with the problem I had and still have with my car.
