I bough my car last year April 2019. The steering rack started to give me issues at the end of March 2020. I parked the car off and did not use it. I kept phoning throughout this time to see if I could book my car in for repairs and a service. Each time we were told that they are not in operation. I finally got a booking to take my car in on the 19th May 2020, which I did. The service lady informed me that they would notify me once they knew what the problem was. I was phoned and informed that they have ordered the steering rack and it would arrive on the 25th May 2020. I called on Tuesday to enquire about the progress on my vehicle to be informed that someone would get back to me. I waited until Thursday for someone to call and ended up calling myself. I was told I would get a call back. I did get a call back and was told that the steering racks estimated time of arrival would be the 4th July 2020 as it is on back order. I asked the receptionist if I would be able to get a courtesy car as I have not had a vehicle for two months now, and would still have to wait until sometime in July to get my car back, if I am lucky. She informed me that she would get the manager to call me. Guess what, the manager didn’t call me. I called again this afternoon and was told the same thing. I am still waiting for someone to call me back and let me know. I am a little irritated as I have had the car just under a year and I already have issues with it. I don’t have a car but I am still paying the instalments. I don’t get any feedback. I called the service centre again on Friday and spoke to the manager who said he will find out if I am entitled to a courtesy vehicle. He said he would call me back. I am still waiting. It is sad as I know toyota normally has excellent service. I do understand we are in lockdown but this is no excuse not to give a client a call back or to inform them of the progress of the repairs to their vehicle or as to why the spares would take so long to arrive.
