Disgruntled

Took my Nissan Micra to Mcarthy Nissan at Gateway on 4th May 2017. Requested a cam shaft sensor and cam shaft sensor to be replaced as I was experiencing an engine light problem. It was confirmed that those two components need to be replaced and if the problem still existed after replacement then the timing chain would have to be replaced which would be very costly. I enquired on the morning if they had stock of the sensors and was told yes so I booked my vehicle in that morning. Mid day I received a call and was told that despite the parts being replaced the engine light still was on and that I would have to replace the timing chain. I was dissapointed in hearing that as I had to now find R18000.00 to replace timing chain and had now just spent R1900.00 . I paid and I had asked to see the parts that were replaced. They handed the box to me and to my dismay I discovered only the cam shaft sensor, I enquired as to where the crank shaft sensor was and I was informed that they only replaced the cam shaft sensor. I was very annoyed as to paying for a part that was not replaced and had I not checked I would have been non the wiser. They then discovered that they did not have the crank shaft sensor in stock although they had confirmed that they had stock. I then went to start my vehicle and it would not start. I called the mechanic and he advised me that the sensor was sensitive. I told him that my vehicle has now more a problem replacing the sensor than when it had come in. I told him to please take it out and replace it with my sensor. I went to speak to the manager to ask for a full refund as I had first paid for an item that was not put in the vehicle and to to top it the part they had replaced caused the car to not start. The manager advised that their debit/credit card facility cannot do the reversal (refund) and that I would have to give them my banking details and that they would do an eft. I then went to see the lady who had debited my card and she advised me that she could do the refund. I was now fuming that I had been **** to as well. The mechanic then came in and told me that he had replaced the part and that my car was "idling" outside. I had spent a good 10 to 15 minutes in the shop whilst my car was "idling" and wasting my petrol. I then asked the manager why my car had to be left idling and I switched it off and it could not start at all. I was furious and told him that I wanted my car to be in the same working order it was when I had brought it in. I went back to work and later in the afternoon the car was sorted out. I was told that I had had another problem as to why it would not start as there was a broken wire. Another lie. Well this experience has left me to believe that if I received such "bad service" from reputable agents then I had rather find a trustworthy private mechanic.
