Complaint against Bidvest McCarthy Lexus Midrand
I would like to lodge a complaint against Bidvest McCarthy Lexus Midrand whom I purchased a vehicle from in August of 2018. Upon purchase, I was promised all documentation and reports that verified the cars validity and condition “As advertised”. I was also promised a service book, which I was promptly assured was present inside the car. I then proceeded to drive my car to Limpopo. During the trip is when I noticed that the service book is missing. I called the sales person immediately to inform him that the service book was not in the car. She assured me that it is a minor issue and that the service book will be provided when I am back in Gauteng. The very same day of purchase, upon my arrival in Limpopo, an engine light came on, indicating a defect in the car. I then called the dealership once more to notify them of this issue. They once more told me that they would inspect this issue upon my arrival in Gauteng, on my way to Cape Town. Upon my arrival in Gauteng, they spent the whole day attempting to fix the defect. They then informed me that it could not be fixed, and that they would require another day to work on it, and assured me it would be fixed the following day. I then explained that my travel plans to Cape Town and arrangements with my workplace were being directly affected, however I left the vehicle with them until the following day. I arrived early the following day, and to my dismay the car was not fixed. They proceeded to spend the rest of the day working on this issue, to no resolve. At this point, I demanded that travel plans for myself and the vehicle be arranged by the dealership, as a consequence of their tardiness. The dealership then agreed to arrange travels for me from Gauteng to Cape Town, and assured me that they would transport the vehicle to Cape Town themselves. Upon the vehicle’s arrival in Cape Town, I noticed that the service book was still absent. Further, they failed to provide a conditions report, which I was not notified of, and became aware of upon my vehicle's arrival in Cape Town. I was consequently forced to conduct this report myself. Furthermore, my service book was also absent. I then communicated this issue with them and was assured that a new book was being ordered and would consist of all the information regarding the service history of the vehicle. After hounding them for months on end for updates and follow-ups, I was informed on the (28 January 2019) that they had finally received the book, however it was a plain service book, and that they are unable to retrieve all previous information regarding services and conditions of the vehicle. To which I decided to be understanding by requesting that they at least give me a testimonial letter that states that the vehicle has had an exclusive owner and full service history which I could use should the vehicles history be questioned to which the sales lady by the name Goitsemang (the sales person that sold me the car in the first place) agreed. Till today as I write this review on 10 June 2019 I haven’t received neither the service book nor testimonial letter. Every time I email I get ignored and when calling in I either get told she is not available. I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE EXPERIANCED SUCH A LEVEL OF UNPROFESSIONALISIM FOR SOMETHING I AM STILL EXPECTED TO PAY FOR EVERY MONTH.
