Be ware of any pruchase of a VW product!

Around October 2018 I went to see the dealer - Bidvest McCarthy VW Middelburg, and indicated that early in 2019 I would be interested in a new VW Amarok V6. So in January I contacted them and asked I would like to purchase a new VW Amarok V6 - they then sent me a quotation for a Hi line series of this vehicle. I declined this offer as it did not have all the extra's in that I wanted and made it clear I wanted the Extreme version that is fitted with all the extra's. On collection obviously one can not check to see if it has everything in so I took the unit home, this was a Friday! So over the weekend I went through the unit in detail to realize that I could not find every thing I wanted, I contacted the dealer on Monday to say but this unit does not have the Tyre pressure indicators that I required. they said not to worry I am probably not going to the settings correctly and thy would send me a video on how to go there, which they did. But unfortunately the unit I received did not have such settings. At this point I immediately contacted VW South Africa for assistance on this matter. They then followed up with the dealer and contacted me confirming that they are seeking a new unit for me, which I was pleased with. Now this never happened - the dealer contacted me back saying o sorry the unit they supp**** me was 2018 model that they bought out from somewhere and did not have this feature and that they are sorry but I will have to live with it! Now here it gets interesting - VW SA phoned me and said o no sorry this dealer is a franchise and thus they do not get involved with it as this is a private matter between me and the private dealer, this was not declared anywhere on VW SA's website informing the public of this and that you would be left in the dark and sorry there is nothing they can or will do to assist. PLEASE PEOPLE BE VERY AWARE OF THIS AND TAKE CARE BEFORE PURCHASING ANY VW VEHICLE!
