Dissatisfaction on treatment from Burchmores Auctions

On the 29th of January 2020 we purchased a Mercedes Benz C200. We picked up the car on the 31st which was a Friday in the afternoon, the traffic was heavy and it was raining. We drove out the facility went to the filling station and then got on the highway but did not make it home The car started loosing power and overheating. I called Burchmores Auctions back to tell them of this. We were informed to bring the car back on Monday of which we did. They kept the car for 2 weeks and we were told that there were some parts that needed to be replaced and had to wait an additional 2 weeks as the parts had to be ordered from Mercedes Benz themselves, we waited. We were called not long after to come get the car it was fixed, but as we drove out it did the same thing happened....the lost power and overheated. Following day we were to take the car back, as we were driving back it died on us on the highway and almost didn't make it back to Burchmores.

On the 25 of February we sent an email requesting to cancel this sale. On the 3rd of March an email came through granting us a cancellation but with the condition that we purchased another car from Burchmores Auctions. As we wanted a car and not the money we accepted the condition.

From the day we received the email we started looking for a car from their warehouse. Given our circumstances they could hardly even give us a hand(the person assisting us told us to come early he would mark the cars that will be in our prize range of which he did), but most of the cars he marked were of high price.

On the 14th of March we bid on a Nissan Pathfinder and of course it was of high amount. I asked on the counter how much was the difference I needed to pay since they had money from the Mercedes Benz purchased in January and the finance lady wrote that I had to pay R 7650 of which I did as we were hoping to take the car the very same day, unfortunately we didn't take it with as it was after 14:30 already. On the 17th our cash cleared in their account and we picked up the car.

A week after I got a call from an Ann saying that I made a mistake when I did the EFT and paid them less R5k, that got me mad as I was sure I had done everything the correct way and to receive a call accusing me of wrong doing was not on. She then took a step back and sort of apologized for the accusation. I explained to her that I had specifically asked what was required of me to pay and that the amount paid was written down for me. The next day I got a call from Selina explaining in a nice manner what happened that she had made a mistake in giving the wrong quote less R5k which she thought we had paid for the deposit. She asked that we made the payment, I explained to her that I could not at the time as firstly I needed to inform my husband of what is happening with burchmore auction and 2nd I didn't have such cash with me given the fact we had to add cash on the new car. Selina even explained that she would have to pay the R5k out of her pocket if we didn't pay it. She asked me if I had registered the car yet and told her we were hoping to do it once my husband was paid, but Corona preps happened.

Few days after I started getting calls from the both ladies which I could not answer(don't remember why I didn't answer their calls) but the voice messages left were that of threatening.

I really feel so disappointed in the way we have been treated by this company and now be threatened that we won't be able to register the car as they will block it until they get their cash.

Please assist .
