Sold a vehicle on false safety claims
Sold a vehicle on false safety claims — dealer principal has ignored me for over a month. In July 2026 I purchased a new 2025 Mazda CX-5 Dynamic Edition from Mazda East Rand in Boksburg. Before I bought it, the sales consultant told me — twice, in front of a witness — that the vehicle had front and rear Park Distance Control (PDC), and that the only difference from the Carbon Edition's system was that the front sensors sometimes needed to be switched off manually because other customers found them noisy in traffic. After taking delivery, I discovered the vehicle has no PDC at all — front or rear. I bought this specific vehicle because vehicle safety matters enormously to me due to a disability, and I would never have purchased it had I been told the truth. I sent a formal, detailed letter of demand to the Dealer Principal, giving 3 working days to respond. He did not respond at all within that period. When he eventually did reply, only after escalation, it was a flat denial — claiming the sales consultant had in fact told me PDC wasn't standard and offered a paid retrofit, which I declined. This is simply not true, and does not explain why I would have purchased the vehicle immediately after supposedly being told this. I contacted the sales consultant directly on *** to raise my disappointment. He did not dispute a single detail of what I say was actually told to me — he simply apologised and said he'd escalated it to management. That response does not match the dealership's own official denial. I have since escalated this to Mazda South Africa directly, and taken the matter to the Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa. This entire process has taken well over a month, cost me significant money in alternative transport, and caused ongoing distress, and I still do not have a resolution. Still being ignored. I will send this to Mazda HQ in Japan and will keep contacting them until I get a response. They need to know what is happening to their brand in SA. If you are considering buying from this dealership, get every single representation made to you in writing before you sign anything — verbally promised features that turn out to be missing appear to be something this dealer is willing to flatly deny ever having said. Or better yet, go elsewhere.

Be Careful – Question Everything They Tell You And Double Check What They Charge You For
My engine light came on a few days ago and I had gone to the garage to check if there was oil and to my dismay the oil was literally almost empty. For a car that just got a service from Mazda east rand and my car doesn’t smoke and isn’t old at all for the engine to be consuming that much oil in a month or two. Luckily my brother is a mechanic and so he advised that they didn’t fill oil in the car yet they charged me for it. Then I had a problem with the key instead of saying bring the key in it’s probably the battery they asked me to bring it in and said it would cost me 2 grand I managed to take the key to a locksmith who fit the battery for me free of charge. Then the one day I had a noise on the under carriage and took it in for them to check guess what they said? First it was the shocks that needed to be replaced now again luckily my brother helped again he started telling me exactly what to say to this guy and the guy goes to check and comes back saying no you right it’s not the shocks!!!! Guys if you dont take a proper mechanic with on every trip and get a mechanic to check post their service guys then they will absolutely spin you guys. I suggest Mazda Edenvale best service thus far!!
