My name is David. I have a serious complain against Mayfair Gearbox at Booysens whereby I'm being ********** an of R62000.

In 2022 I took my car to Mayfair Gearbox in Booysens and I was assisted by Tyrone who told me that my gearbox is beyond repair and they need to install a new one, he then charged R62000 of which I paid over a period of two years since I'm only working Saps. After the payment the car wasn't working and they said it's engine problem. I called mechanic to fix it and still wasn't working I took it the other mechanic and that happened almost 4times but one the mechanic realized the gearbox was not new but repaired. I complained but Carmen the manager told me that the inside of the gearbox is new and refused to change it.

Over a period of two years the car has never moved and the blame was always on the engine even when I had it fixed 4 times and some of mechanics were their referrals. Now the gearbox is completely broken and they say it's because it was towed on the wheels and I must pay again..

My problem is that the company did not do what they promised me which is the new gearbox and also when they decided to repair the old one I was not told besides I have paid full amount but I've never drove the car and now I must pay again. I have already spent more than R120000 and now I feel that the company is ripping me off by wanting me to pay more money.
