Broad day light *******

On Monday October 4th 2021 I had a break down with my Ford Focus auto in the Glen area. I managed to get it to FORD the Glen. The following Day I contacted Mayfair Gearbox in Selby to assist me with my car because FORD said the Gear box was defective. They were prompt and efficient it towing my car to Selby and i received a message confirming that the car has arrived at their deport. It took 2 full days for them to Diagnose the fault and i only received the quote after trying to call them several times. The long quotation was separated in to two quotes to replace several parts in the car . My husband decided to go there in person to find out why the quotation was this high and he picked up that some answers were not adding up. The highest quote was R71 578.36 and the lowest R62 583. We then called our insurance to taw the car and take it home because my husband wanted to check the car himself.

It took him less than an hour to pick up that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the gearbox but the transmission oil cooler hose was faulty. He ordered the pipe replaced it and replaced the gearbox oil then the car was operational again.

How on earth do you quote us so much money assuming what the fault the gearbox when you have no clue of what is going on. You charged us R1690.50 for a false diagnosis so what exactly did you charge us for. Is this real business or are you reaping people off simple because they do not know anything about fixing cars. People think twice before you take your car to these people. this is broad day light *******.
