Selling incorrect components

<p>On 18 September, I went to Matrix Warehouse in Kolonade Retail Park to purchase an HDMI to VGA convertor, as the New DELL laptops don’t have the VGA plug fitted. A sales rep assisted me with a unit that he said it will work on the computer. I clearly mentioned to him that it must plug into a projector, as I needed it for presentations because I was traveling the next day abroad.</p> <p>When I arrived home later the afternoon, I noticed on the box that the unit was VGA to HDMI. When I phoned the shop it was already closed. Alternatively I made another plan when I travelled abroad. The price for the unit was R509.00. I went back on 25 September to Matrix Warehouse to exchange the unit for the correct part. The part was still sealed and unused.</p> <p>When I arrived at the store the same sales rep was present who assisted me with the purchase. I’ve explained to him the situation that he sold me the incorrect part & later to be told that there is no HDMI to VGA unit available to assist my request. The assistant at the repair area told him that he sold me the incorrect part & that there is an HDMI to VGA converter available. </p> <p>The Sales rep told me that they do not exchange parts & I had to purchase the correct part additional. I explained to him that it is still sealed & in the same condition as it was purchased. He then said to me it must come out of his own pocket, as he is responsible for the mistake. The price on the tag was displayed R359 where he paid only R220 (Maybe staff discount) & without even giving me back a refund. It doesn’t matter if it was R220.00 or R359.00; I still purchased the part for R509.00.</p> <p>Are you doing this to all customers to make profit?</p>
