PC warranty voided by technicians
i purchased an hp I3 laptop at the matrix warehouse at southgate mall. the pc froze during a presentation at work and never switched on afterwards. took it back to matrix and when i got there the instore technicians proceeded to open the pc without checking for warranty status and odered me to pay r250. i was called in to come get by USELESS pc after they diagnosed that the board was dead. i asked why they didnt take it to hp since it was under warranty which they subsequently did. hp turned back due to the voided warranty caused by the matrix team opening it. they still want me to pay for services rendered...worst service ever

11 Oct 2019, 14:36Good day Raymond,
We have received your complaint and upon investigation, the below was discovered:
When the laptop was brought in, it was dead and not powering on.
Our technicians had to strip the laptop and found that the motherboard had to be replaced.
The laptop was sent in to the repair centre, where it was discovered that the extended HP warranty was not registered. The standard 1 year warranty that Matrix Warehouse offers has also elapsed.
The warranty was not voided by Matrix Warehouse.
There is a R250 assessment fee that is payable, as we had to strip the laptop to identify the issue.
Regards,
The Matrix Team
