My girlfriend brought in her laptop that wouldn't boot up for them to make back-ups of the contents of the hard-drive and then format it. They said they would charge us for: making backups, buying a new hard-drive, and installing new hard-drive. If the data was recoverable from the hard-drive, then there is no need for a new hard-drive. I ended up doing the job myself instead of being **** to and being taken advantage of, no new hard-drive was needed.
