Matrix ingores their CPA Legal obligations

I bought a new Zixaa1200kVa UPS from Matrix Cresta on 20 December 2014. This means it falls under the 6 months imp**** warranty legislated in the Consumer Protection Act S56 giving ME the right to choose a replacement, repair or refund for faulty goods.<br> <br> I have used the UPS to only power my router so I have connectivity during load shedding. The time the UPS lasts has deteriorated over the past 6 months so that it now only last 9 to 14 minutes.<br> <br> I returned the fully charged UPS to the branch I bought it from on 16/6/2015 and outlined the problem I was experiencing. They tested it and told me it only lasted 5 minutes. They said they needed to send it off for full testing to see if the damage had been caused by power surges. The manual specifically says not to plug the unit into a surge suppressor which means as I cannot protect against surges, a surge cannot be used as a reason of my misuse.<br> <br> I pointed out that as the store had already determined there was a fault with the unit, the CPA kicked in and I was entitled to the refund the Law allows. The manager decided to follow the principle the customer is always wrong and refused to give me the refund.<br> <br> Won't buy from Matrix again
