Is this a legal warranty?
I want to know if it is even legal to give 24 hour warranty on new items sold to the public? I mean sometimes you just cannot return a faulty item within 24 hours due to a number of possible circumstances. Matrix Klerksdorp (Checkers Hyper) sold me a cable that was obviously from a suspect manufacturer, because I was warned that the cable only has 24 hours warranty. It turned out the cable was intermittently faulty, but it showed up only on day 2. I got a very snotty attitude from the salesman when I did return it, who said he will swap it but if the new cable had a problem, I cannot return it. So, since when is it legal to openly sell suspect (that could be the only reason for giving such a short and impossible warranty) equipment to the public as "new" and take no responsibility for it when faulty? This Company knows how to rid themselves from a good reputation.
Cables are viewed as a consumable and therefore no warranty is offered on the same. The guys at the store has agreed to swop the cable out if faulty, but after testing it they could not find any fault with it. Can it be that the fault is with the item used? Please feel free to take it in to the store for testing to see if there is another problem that is causing the issue you are experiencing.
