If you do not support full warranty, why buy from matrix and not online?
I bought a HP S700 SSD On 8/6/2018. A week ago it died. On the box it states a nice 3 year warranty however as I bought it from matrix I was told that it no longer has warranty.
I asked if I could return it myself to HP and was told no they import the drives so the warranty is only 12 months and the rest of the HP warranty is basically void.
I looked into this and found that these SSD's do have high failure rates, with the reviews from online customers abysmal and the sudden failure a common issue with them. Thus I feel that matrix should really try and help their customers when issues out of control of both the consumer and matrix arises.
I feel that in this day and age no store should not offer the full warranty on products. It is wasteful and costly on the consumer. This is one of the few reasons to still support your local business rather than just buying online which works out the same with shipping, carry the full warranty and provides a greater selection.
I am willing to do most of the work myself to return as i would have to do it with an online store anyways. However giving me no option at all just makes me use the online store next time where they are willing to go the extra mile.
No online store or brick and mortar store in SA provide more that a 1 year warranty (Unless specifically taken out / paid for at the time of original purchase) The extended warranty is offered by the manufacturer and this sometimes needs to be activated by the consumer once the product is purchased, and in some cases the extended warranty requires the consumer to deal with the supplier themselves.
We do apologize for any inconvenience caused.
