HDMI visibly faulty manufactured cable not warrent

I bought a 10m HDMI cable and installed it the next day, It seemed to be fine but after about a week the customer informed me about the TV screen going off intermittently. On my first visit on site I could not determine if the TV, cable or DVR was causing the problem, but it was still working. After a day or three the customer complained again and on investigation I realized it was the cable not functioning unless it is kept in a certain position. I phoned Matrix about the warranty and I was told there is no warranty on the cable. I then carefully removed the rubber outer sleeve to see if a wire on one of the pins was faulty. I then discovered that all the wires was molded in plastic and one of the pins was noticeably shorter than the rest. It seem to be a visible manufacturing problem. I took it to Matrix in Alberton but was told that I had to return it within one week for them to book it in to the supplier and also since I opened the one end they would not replace it. So the long and the short is that since the cable did not go faulty within a week, and since I opened the cable insulation although it is visible faulty manufactured It is my problem not the suppliers.

Hello CoetzeeMarlene,

The best would have been to bring the cable in for testing at the technical department so a proper assessment could have been done.
The concern is that you have now cut the cable open and thus voided any chance we had with the supplier fighting for a claim. Normally cables don't carry warranty but we will always try and assist our customers where possible.
I am sorry that we weren't able to assist in this case.

Best Regards
