False Advertising

These laptops did NOT have Windows 10 installed but windows 8.1., so we had to do the upgrades ourself which used more than 25 gig of prepaid data at a great cost to us. The windows 8.1 driverd disk that came with the laptops was not compatible with win 10 and we had to download additional large driver files. I even showed the Techies at Matrix Richards Bay that the drivers disk was incompatible. After I brought this to the attention of Matrix, A Schalk from Joburg phoned me and promised to get back to me, this was two weeks ago and they haven't bothered to get back. I told them two weeks ago they can give us a 1TB external hard drive to make up for our loss in data. Schalk had the cheek to tell me wewant something for free now! The data downloads cost us R 1 500.00! Excluding labour costs!to upgrade the four laptops to Win 10 as advertised! Total cost to us is well over R 2 500.00! An external hard drive cost to Matrix would've been only approx R 400.00. False advertising in the extreme and they choose to keep dead quiet in the hope that this will go away. I will now lodge a complaint with the Advertising Standards Authority of South Africa (A.S.A) as well.

Matrix advertised on their brochures and also on their website that they have Proline laptops on special that come with Windows 10 pre-installed. We bought FOUR of these laptops, together with two laser printers and laptop bags, total cost R 20 000.00. Hi Pierre

As per the discussions you had with Schalk you were aware during the purchase transaction that the specific units purchase was loaded with Windows 8. It was agreed that the technicians would upgrade the units to Windows 10 at no cost to you. Because the update took some time you decided to update some of the units yourself.
