Don't support your local Computer store in Melkbos
I went to complain about my laptop that went dead on me on 9/1/ 2016. A job-card was opened.. I contacted them in the afternoon and i was told that he took it to their HQ because they can't solved it. I contacted them again late Monday afternoon. I was informed that 3 fuses needed to be replaced and i will get the computer on Tuesday afternoon, I followed it up on Tuesday afternoon when i was told that the screen doesn't work and they recommend to replace the motherboard. On Wednesday afternoon i visited their store to find out what will it cost to replace the motherboard. Timo made 2 calls and i was told a cost of R 1,500 and it will be not a i3 processor but a i5 processor and it will be ready Thursday afternoon. I go-ahead. I walked today in at 16h35 and was told here is your laptop. Jannie said it's because of power supply tthat hey had to install a different screen. This screen was chipped and cracked. I couldn't handle the argument that i received a i5 processor and this is far better than a crack/chipped screen. I was told that they will replace the screen. They took out new motherboard, i tried to find sollution on when but they failed to commit. Said they can't phone me
You came in very distressed with a Acer laptop that's completely dead. You needed it working as a matter of urgency, we tested all components and found the mother board to be faulty with 2 capacitors blown, normally I would recommend a new laptop but as you had no funds for a new laptop this was not an option. Our only option was to fix the motherboard ,after replacing the capacitor's we got power but no display. We had to give up on that motherboard but managed to source another MB and this one was an i5 and not an i3 like your old board. We discussed a price of R1600.00 which as you know is a fantastic price ,on fitting the board we discovered that the charging port did not align with the old port, and we were forced to use an old casing. The problem was it had a crack in both top corners of the outer panel (not the screen as stated).
You were informed that it will be ready Friday afternoon 13H00 (today).
We put a lot of effort into accommodating you as we really felt sorry for you
when you 1st walked into the shop. A pity that we are getting slammed on social media for our efforts trying to assist you.
