Customer satisfaction does not count
I have an old laptop that needed to be upgraded from a Windows XP operating system to the new Windows 8.1. I went to Matrix Computers and bought the new programme for R 1300. When I tried to load the programme I could not as I am not too sure what I am doing when it comes to computers. I took my laptop and new programme and dropped it off at Matrix Computers and was happy to pay R300 for them to do the job. When I went to pick my computer up, they had not done the job as my computer memory is too small. (I had not paid for the upgrade yet) They said I can put new memory in but the laptop would always be slow and recommended I buy a new laptop. Upon weighing this option up, as my laptop is old and one cannot get spares if something like the battery or such like should go, I decided that a new laptop would probably be the best option and here comes the crunch - their policy of non refundable software is so cast in stone that they are willing to throw away an R8000 laptop sale but will not refund my Windows 8.1 software of R1300, even though it is obvious it has never been used. I don't even know if you can copy these things.

All software is non-refundable due to anti-piracy regulations from the software manufacturers. This is not a unique policy to Matrix Warehouse at all but is an international standard that will be met with at any retailer almost anywhere in the world that subscribes to anti-piracy laws and regulations. The software becomes susceptible to piracy once it has been sold and opened. There is no guarantee that the licence has not been copied in any way and can be used in the future. Matrix Warehouse regrets that you have been inconvenienced by this international policy and we regret that Matrix Warehouse bears the brunt of the blame for this international policy devised by the software manufacturer.
