computer repair
took my computer for a new hard drive to the Fourways mall branch. they managed to damage the fan on the computer which led to overheating and cutting out. After three visits refunded hard drive cost but not the R 500 labour. Did not even offer to look at problem with fan. Avoid them.

You brought in your laptop saying that the unit is faulty, we booked in the unit and did a diagnosis and saw that the hard drive has crashed. You were informed that the hard drive needs to be replaced. We suggested a SSD. You agreed on a suitable unit that was affordable. We installed the SSD and loaded windows. You were charged R250 diagnosis fee and R250 to install windows. This is below our normal rate. We showed you that the unit was working before you paid and left. You brought the unit back about 3 days after and informed us that the laptop is overheating and switching off. We ran a stress test on the laptop to see if its overheating or switching off. We let it run for some time opening multiply programmes to stress the laptop and we could not replicate the issue. We then showed you that laptop was fine and you agreed to this before you left. 2-3 days later you returned informing us that you are still having the same issue and that the fan might be the issue. The laptop is a older model and the access to the hard drive is on the back where you open a small cover that only houses the HDD. At no point is it necessary to open the back panel for access. Therefore it is impossible for the technician to have damaged the fan as we had no reason to open the entire panel at the back. We did offer that you can leave the laptop with us and we will have a look at it. This offer was not accepted by yourself and you insisted on a refund. We will gladly credit the HDD if you no longer need it, but we are unable to credit the labour charges as this service was performed.
