Abhorrent attitude towards prospective customers
<p>I enquired telephonically ay Matrix Warehouse Computers in Table View, Cape Town with regards to a laptop's keyboard that had coke light spilt on it and some of the keys weren't working.</p> <p>I spoke to Chris who said I can bring it in and he can have a look at it and assess it.</p> <p>My work colleague then took the laptop to Matrix and was told by Oliver (the manager) that it would actually take 4 - 5 hours to assess it and only afterwards would he be able to tell us what the issue is.</p> <p>My colleague relayed this information back to me which resulted in me phoning the shop as to get an explanation for this sudden change in information.</p> <p>I spoke to Oliver who did not offer any explanation as to why I was told the wrong information by Chris but insisted that 4 - 5 hours is a good turn around time and that he had 4 other laptops on his desk already that needed fixing.</p> <p>As a simi**** incident with a laptop has happened to me before and my boyfriend who is also in the IT field managed to fix it quickly and easily for me.</p> <p>I told this to Oliver who practically shouted at me to "get your boyfriend to fix it then!"</p> <p>I was so astonished by this behaviour that I rather put the phone down instead of carrying on the conversation with such a blatently rude person.</p> <p>I'm not sure what characteristics Matrix Warehouse selects their managers on but this particular individual does not suit the position and should rather be fixing computers instead of dealing with the public.</p> <p>If this individual can not deal with potential customers in an acceptable manner then I seriously doubt his ability to fix a laptop.</p> <p>I will never even think of ever going to another Matrix warehouse store for anything and will rather go to the suppliers to have anything pc related fix and tell my friends and family to do the same.</p> <p> </p>
Good day Kelly
We would like to apologize if you feel that you were treated unfairly in this matter. When you called Craig (Not Chris) he informed you that they will have a look and at no point committed to do it immediately. Other customer work was booked in prior to your laptop arriving and this had to be finished first before they technicians could get to your laptop and do the assessment. You then had a chat to Charles (Not Oliver) the owner, and he informed you that it will take a few hours before they could get to the notebook due to the other work already on the bench. This did not meet your approval and you informed Charles that your boyfriend could fix it quicker. At no point did he raise his voice at you but rather stuck to his offer of a few hours. This didn't meet your approval and you ended the call.
The staff is more than capable of performing a proper assessment your laptop and then to supply you with a solution that will suit you.
Regards
The Matrix Team
