****** items during longhaul move (Durban to Cape Town)

<p>Master Movers did the move of my household contents from Durban to Cape Town.</p> <p>The service of the packers and offloaders was good.</p> <p> </p> <p>But upon unpacking, I found several items had been ******.</p> <p>Items had been removed from individual boxes which were then resealed.</p> <p> </p> <p>This suggests that Master Movers are looking through different boxes looking for items to *****.</p> <p> </p> <p>Upon contacting Master Movers managers, I received no support.</p> <p>The response email was:</p> <p> </p> <p>"After discussing this issue with all relevant parties the following points are to be noted:</p> <p> 1) The goods were delivered in good order and condition as per the person you nominated as your representative to receive on your behalf.</p> <p>2) The boxes were owner packed and contents unknown</p> <p>3) Goods were not checked in the presence of our staff on receipt and no discrepancies noted</p> <p> In the light of the above we cannot assist in this instance and suggest that you claim from you insurers.</p> <p>We assure you of our best attention and service at all times."</p> <p> </p> <p>Please beware of using Master Movers.</p> <p>They cannot guarantee the safety of your items, and do not investigate theft within their organisation seriously.</p> <p> </p> <p>Daniel Petrie</p>

Good Day Daniel Petrie

Moving is counted among the 5 most stressful things that can happen to a person. Add to that the fact that something goes wrong, only compounds the stress. I am sorry to hear of the incident.

After Investigating the matter, we offer a few words of explanation that we believe invariably adds to any problem. Had we delivered directly to your new home straight from the truck that picked up your goods, I believe there would no have been a problem. But too many people handled the goods.

From Dbn to our Cpt store at the beginning of Dec. in store a month in cpt and delivered in Jan 17 to a third party who accepted on your behalf. They signed all the documents that goods were received in good order. It then took another few weeks for you to return from holiday oversees. So a few too many ways in which things can go wrong.

We have examined footage of our store in Cpt and it does not show up anything that we can point a finger to. We regret the inconvenience you suffered in the loss of a Hard Drive with sentimental pictures on it. Please accept our unconditional apologies for the incident which we neither deny or accept responsibilities for. In the meantime we have endeavoured to improve our security in our CPT warehouse and will continue to monitor same for like incidents.

The time lapse in response is unacceptable and I have personally taken over the Hello Peter responses to make sure things are attended to timeously.

We wish you a pleasant stay in the Mother City

Kind Regrds. Jose Rodrigues. CEO. Master Movers ***
