Totally Disappointed - Mahindra
ok, where do i start... i bought the Mahindra XUV300 in March 2020 from Benba Motors. happy with the sales person and service i received. then boom... the trouble starts. the Mahindra i bought was a demo model which had 5000 mileage. anyway, about 2/3 weeks later im on my way to Mahindra to collect my license plates. i get caught up in traffic and suddenly i see smoke coming from the bonnet, mind you it was raining and im on the R300. i get hold of my sales person and i send him a video clip on whatsapp showing him what is happening, he insists i must have driven through water. anyway, he drives out and meets up with me to check the car out. and its apparently the clutch that was burning. anyway, we all good and the car is fine. on 5-6 different occasions after that, as im driving, the car would go into neutral and switch off. this happened 3 times will im on the N2 on my way to Town, which i had to battle to restart the car. eventually it would start up again. on the last occasion, luckily im close to home the car does the same thing. and this time not wanting to start at all. i get hold of Mahindra emergency and they tow the car to their dealership and it goes in for repairs. it took them a week to try and figure out what the problem was. which they assumed its the speed sensor that was faulty. it gets replaced and all is fine. fast forward to March 2022, just a week or two before i have the car for 2 years. Luckily, once again im close to home, while driving, the gears go from 5th gear to Neutral. all of a sudden, the screen goes from 5 to N, all this while in motion. i had to call my husband and he had to get 2 guys to help him push the car home. i contact Mahindra, they collect the car and a week later i get a call to say my clutch failed. all this in a span of 2 years. to repair the clutch its R16 000 - R17 000. and its no longer under warranty. i didn’t have that kind of money to have it repaired and the extra warranty i took out for the car only falls into place after 5 years :-( with no other option, i sold the car back to Mahindra Benba Motors and bought the Mahindra KUV100 #Dare. i am not happy about all this. the sales person knew he is selling me a "new" car with a faulty clutch. And mind you, the sales person no longer works at Mahindra, so I cant even hold him accountable for the faulty clutch. The worst ever. I bought the Mahindra XUV300 due to its affordability and features. But, if I knew I would have issues like this I would have bought something else. Totally disappointed.
